The health and safety of the children in our care at Kiddies' Corner is paramount, therefore, it is essential that all parents/guardians leave several contact telephone numbers so that if a child is seriously unwell, they can be contacted immediately and their child can be picked up immediately.
If a child's behaviour or character is unusual and we feel there is a cause for concern, parents will be contacted using the phone numbers on our emergency register.
Parents/guardians will be asked to keep their children at home if they are suffering from or showing symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting, runny eyes or ears, a temperature of 101 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees centigrade or above, chickenpox, measles, mumps, meningitis and hepatitis and to inform the nursery staff as to the nature of the illness, so that other parents can be alerted and careful observations of other children can be made. A child should not return until they have been free of an infectious disease for at least 24 hours; including diarrhoea, vomiting, runny eyes or ears.
Cuts or open sores, whether on adults or children, will be covered with a plaster or other dressing.
If a child needs to be administered medicines, written permission is required from parents/guardians and exact instructions must be left. Parents must sign the medication form both when leaving the medication instructions and upon picking their child up from Nursery. Parents must also inform the nursery of any possible side effects of the medication, giving us the leaflet that explains these side effects, if the medicine has been bought, for example, Calpol or Tixylix, or a doctors note explaining the side effects if prescribed medication, for example Antibiotics. We have to keep these as part of our records and therefore will be unable to return them to you. The nursery must also be informed of when the last dose of medication was administered to the child.
If a child needs medication that requires technical/medical knowledge, this will be discussed and any appropriate training given.
If a child is ill and cannot attend a pre-booked nursery session, the cost is the full amount.
